New Kittys on the block saga.

I am angry. pissed. around 1 1/2 ago someone decided to dump (abandon) 2 cats on my block. Beautiful cats. Malnourished. but beautiful. We already have a surplus of feral cats in the neighborhood as it is. I live close to boat marinas so there is no shortage of felines running around.

So I am relieved to say that after feeding one of them and befriending them, one of them has a home today. He is the male, very vocal. Will be an indoor only cat!

Now one of my neighbors and me are working on the other one. We believe it is a female. scared. she hides and runs away. from any of us trying to feed her, and other cats. It gets worse. We believe she may be pregnant and getting ready to nest underneath one of the house on the block. If we can't get to her before she has those kittens, we may not be able prevent them all from going feral. Right now she isn't mingling with any of the other cats out there. Well tomorrow is another day.

I hope you can catch her before she gives birth, but it's great that you were able to catch the male and that he has a home........Good Luck I know you are a kind person I just wish others would follow your kindness !!!!!

	fuzzygalore: 09/23/2008 7:42 PM I could tell he must of been a pet. While he was eating I keep getting closer to him. Then I tryed petting him, no problem. Then he let me pick him up! no claws came out. EVER. It's his personality plus that saved him. Got a call from the people who took him directly to the vet. $650 later. Thank god we were able to make them neuter him immediately. When they saw how beautiful he is they started saying how they would love to breed him. slaps palm to head We told them how we think the other is pregnant. If she does indeed have kittens, they can have one of them instead. So they left the cat AT THE VET and he will be snipped tomorrow A.M.

	fuzzygalore: 09/24/2008 8:28 AM Oh no sorry I gave that impression. They actully started thinking they wanted to mate him cause he would make beautiful babies. But we got them to get him nuetered immediately telling them we thought there were kittens already on the way. They can have any of them they wanted. Why bring more kittens into the world that will need homes then you have to.
	prittykitty: 09/25/2008 12:48 AM People make me so mad!! I am a member of The HSUS and I read all kinds of horror stories.Why don't people realize when you adopt a pet it is for LIFE! And I hate when people think that a female has to have at least 1 litter to be healthy.That's a load of shit! Bless you and the people who are taking him in.I hope you can at least get the mother too,but I know it's hard.My Mom used to take care of a colony of cats,we found homes for most but it just got too much and we took alot to shelters and the HSUS.Of course I had to take one.And 2 of mine are also strays I found.Good luck and keep us posted.Hey btw how's your other cat doing now?
