Update: In New York

well, yesterday we signed the 2 year lease to the apartment in City Island. Because of the mess left by the previous tenents and the trouble they had getting them out, we will have access to one room on Sunday. The landlord will finish painting, etc the next week. Still no date for the boxes and furniture to arrive. It's all still in storage in Virginia. Currently staying at friends apartment in Yonkers, NY.

The property owner had to have the city sheriff come to get them out. Appears they also stopped paying the power bill. When the power got shut off, they managed to tap into a neighbors power lines. Ran up the neighbors bill sky high ($2000)!
